This Week at Dolls House Direct

We’re always creating new miniatures and updating our catalogue with new products and improvements. We’re really pleased to share some of the highlights in the workshop this week.

Jane Newman Wrought Iron Bed

First off, we’re really excited to share with you that we’ve successfully remastered an authentic Jane Newman design wrought iron double bed. We have made a few improvements to her original design allowing us to reproduce them much faster than before.

Exclusively available to purchase from Dolls House Direct’s website, eBay and Etsy stores for just £36.50. The kit includes a pleasing metal head and footer, 4 frame sections and a laser cut MDF mesh base. The photo above has been finished with cream and black paint, with a splash of gold to highlight further details. The Jane Newman bed is supplied unassembled and unpainted for customers to add their creative touches.

Measuring 6 inches by 4.5 inches, the bed is suitable for almost any period Dolls House bedroom.

Pictured below with some finishing touches. This is a generic mattress and pillow set from  Minimum World miniatures that fits the bed beautifully.

Vintage Brass Warming Bedpan

The first of two features from Sussex Crafts is the wonderfully detailed Warming Bedpan, cast in metal and supplied fully assembled and painted. It features a long mahogany style handle and brass effect pierced pan.

The piercings allowed oxygen to reach the embers, making the heat last longer, but the bed would smell of fumes and there was always a risk of scorching the linens.

On brand with Sussex Crafts Miniatures, these products are artisan made to order. Exclusively available to purchase from Sussex Crafts’s website, Ebay and Etsy stores for £45

Vintage Wooden Sack Truck

The second feature from Sussex Crafts this week is the fully working wooden sack truck. Based on designs from the Victorian period, it’s made from a harmonious balance of wood and metal. The wheels turn, allowing small loads to be moved around with ease.

Exclusively available to purchase from Sussex Crafts’s website, eBay and Etsy stores for £45. Please note that crates aren’t included and are just for illustration purposes.

See you next week!

Come back next week more highlights from Dolls House Direct. We’ll be taking a look at fully working Streetlamps which are due back in stock soon, a slightly larger room box for collectors of 1/6th scale models, and we’ll also have all the information you’ll need to enter the very first Dolls House Direct Annual Awards!
